Indeed proprioception can be trained and that is great news! Chiropractic care can remove unwanted "noise" that can reduce proper proprioceptive communication. Subluxations which are stuck and or misaligned joints cause this "noise" and therefore miscommunication.

Nociception, mechanoreception, and proprioception are all intimately associated with the normal and abnormal function of vertebral joints. In a nutshell, nociception induces subluxation which subsequently reduces mechanoreception and proprioception!

Awesome! Makes me want to try trail running with your uncle Andrea....only thing that kind of holds me back are his stories of occasional mountain lion sightings...he claims that is what helps him run faster!

I totally agree with Cristina. There is no reason to feel awkward about calling yourself a runner. You're not a weirdo, you've accomplished something that a very small amount of people in the entire world do. It is hard. It feels good. Sometimes it feels terrible. But you still do it.

Thank you for posting this information. I am new to running and I can really appreciate some good form lessons in a space that allows for beginners to come without apprehension. Sometimes the hardest part about integrating something new into your life is finding a program that fits your own skill level.

Thank you for your inspiring words....I listen to the Eye of the Tiger before my Saturday long runs....it has become a staple to my running routine. During the week, I listen to a compilation of 105 running songs that have a 180 BPM. These are all cover songs of some classic rock songs from years past and even some current ones! It works wonders and helps me keep my cadence!!
